Resumen
For this project six steel samples AISI/SAE 1045 were used, one of which remained in delivery state, and the remaining were subjected to heat treatments as follows. All samples were exposed to an initial heating to 770 ° C for 30 minutes, then they subjected to a cooling environment with mild water spray to reach approximately 550 ° C. Once this temperature was reached the samples to a second flask were introduced previously heated to 550 ° C, hence the specimens were taken out one at a different time: 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour and 2 hours. Each sample was allowed to cool to ambient. This process is performed in order to analyze the change suffered by the material microstructure, observing samples in a metallographic microscope, also performing hardness testing each specimen and then enter the values in a comparative table taking into account the different times used in the treatments.
