La imagen contiene una noticia sobre la ley 17 de 1881, que decreta que el poder ejecutivo destinará un total de treinta mil pesos anualmente en la ciudad de Bogotá para la construcción de los monoductos y cañerías públicas. Por otra parte, el tesorero nacional, en un período de cuatro años, se le destinará dos mil pesos anuales con el propósito de intervenir en el alumbrado de gas de la ciudad de Bogotá, con preferencia en edificios públicos como colegios y cuarteles, Noticia publicada en el Diario Oficial No. 5004 Pag 9063 de 26 de Abril 1881.
