Abstract

The degree project “And Everything is Worse Now?” is a theatrical adaptation of the monologue “Free Churro ” from the series BoJack Horseman, which mixes autofiction, dramaturgical reflection and identity exploration. Through a creative log, the author documents the rewriting process, transforming the original character into a woman who redefines her gender identity, which allows to address issues such as self-acceptance, the conflict between identity and social expectation, and the search for belonging. The play delves into dysfunctional family relationships, existential emptiness and the desire for validation, using black humor as an expressive resource, all from a self-reflective and emotionally resonant perspective.
