Resumen
When you think about a home or rudimentary forging workshop, surely the first thing you think is the great amount of effort and wear and tear that this craft requires. It is no secret to anyone that hammering is synonymous with strength, exhaustion, fatigue and hard work, so automating this repetitive task would undoubtedly greatly facilitate the work of blacksmiths. The objective of this written work is to show the entire procedure (design, manufacturing and assembly) involved in the development of a pile hammer powered by mechanical energy. At the end of this monograph all the calculations and procedures implemented to design the mechanism are shown and, in addition, the result is a fully functional pile hammer capable of deforming low and medium carbon steels when hot. To do so, a compilation of different authors who published their own hammer designs was made, all options were evaluated and the best alternative was selected taking into account selection matrices (Pugh matrix and QFD); All the theoretical foundation necessary to carry out the calculations was gathered; The plans were drawn up and, with it, the sizing of all the pieces that make up the structure of the hammer; These components were manufactured to later be assembled.
