Resumen
Claro Colombia is a telecommunication company which administrative operation is centralized in a new building called Plaza Claro. This building is an urbanistic project compound by a two-story shopping center and two ten-story towers. In the number one tower, the company´s offices are located. The operations were moved and unified at this tower in april 2017 and currently its 8 functional floors are fully occupied with an approximate number of 3600 employees. The preparation of protocols and procedures aimed at prevention, protection and response to emergency situations is contemplated as part of the processes for upgrading the new facilities. Therefore, the objective of this study is the preparation of the number one tower´s emergency plan, answering the question that leads to this study: ¿Is there a properly documented strategic plan to manage and respond to an emergency situation or event at the tower 1 of plaza Claro, focused on mitigating human and economic losses? In this context there is a need to establish a prevention and response plan, aligned with current legislation, which allows operational support to events and situations that may arise in the building according with the company´s level of exposure and vulnerability as well as the availability of resources and the planning´s development. Having understood this, the construction of this emergency plan began with the collection of information from tower 1, which includes construction parameters, design, access and evacuation routes and the distribution of their work areas, among others; likewise, analysis of the respective service systems were carried out and the results of the inspections were documented, with the purpose of carrying out a risk analysis based on a threat identification and an estimate of probabilities. As a result, the emergency master plan was conceived where the procedures to be followed for the preparation, attention and response to emergencies are formulated, including, in the same way, the contingency plans to be taken into account, which define whether the existing resources are the necessary and if the strategies evaluated with the drills are appropriate for the way in which the building is designed and for the number and distribution of people who work and visit it.
