Resumen
The image contains a news story about the impact of the war on the economy. The year 1875 has been detrimental for Colombia due to political conflicts that have negatively affected trade, industry and credit. Unlike 1874, which was a year of peace and prosperity, 1875 brought disorder and economic disruption, which has been lamented by merchants and citizens. The lack of currency and low sales of foreign manufactures have been notable. However, some sectors, such as product exports and banking, have shown resilience. The Bank of Bogotá has provided significant financial supplements to the government. The purchase of the Bolívar railway and telegraph and the possible entry of new shipping companies on the Magdalena River stands out. Despite the government's efforts and certain improvements, the economy continues to face major challenges due to political instability and lack of foreign investment. News published in Diario de Cundinamarca, December 31, 1875.
