Resumen
The technological campus of the Universidad Distrital Francisco José De Caldas is facing a critical problem of shortage of parking spaces for student motorcycles. This shortage has generated long lines and waiting times that affect the smooth entry to the parking lot. Despite certain improvements in the parking infrastructure, the access process continues to be inefficient, with a guard in charge of managing physical documents and limited tokens, which causes significant delays due to high demand. To solve these problems, we propose the implementation of an automated registration system to monitor the entry and exit of motorcycles in the university parking lot. This system, based on OpenCV computer vision technology, promises to improve registration accuracy and security, reduce waiting times, and minimize the risk of unauthorized vehicle entry. The solution will enable students and users to more efficiently access the parking lots, significantly improving their experience. In addition, the system will collect valuable data on the flow of motorcycles in the parking lot, which will contribute to a more efficient management of resources and improve safety in the long term. In summary, this project's main objective is to optimize access to the university's parking lots, solving the problem of shortages and long waiting times. Through an innovative technological solution, it is expected to provide a more satisfactory experience to the university community, while at the same time contributing to the efficiency of resource management and security in university facilities.
