Abstract

The image contains a news item about the statement made by the editors of several newspapers in the city of Bogotá, committed to the national interests and representatives of different political currents, who have reviewed the documents published by the press about the situation of Colombian citizens in the neighboring Republic of Ecuador. These documents reveal that Colombians are being openly harassed and persecuted, contravening the principles of justice and equity respected by all civilized peoples. This situation constitutes a clear violation of the treaties that unite Colombia with Ecuador, a country whose prosperity is sincerely desired. In response to these events, the editors have declared their unity beyond political differences, firmly committing to defend the rights and honor of Colombia, their shared homeland.
