The image contains news about an event from 1854 in the Republic of New Granada, now Colombia, where an illicit operation of manufacturing and distributing counterfeit currency was discovered. The report, addressed to the Secretary of State of the Government Office, details how three leagues north of Bogotá, in the district of Suba, machines for the manufacture of currency and 323 pesos four reales in already minted fake coins were found. La imagen contiene una noticia acerca de un suceso de 1854 en la República de la Nueva Granada, actual Colombia, donde se descubrió una operación ilícita de fabricación y distribución de moneda falsa. El informe, dirigido al Secretario de Estado del Despacho de Gobierno, detalla cómo a tres leguas al norte de Bogotá, en el distrito de Suba, se encontraron máquinas para la fabricación de moneda y 323 pesos cuatro reales en monedas falsas ya acuñadas. El documento está firmado por P. Gutiérrez Lee y destaca la rápida acción de las autoridades para desmantelar la operación y aprehender a los involucrados.
