Resumen
The thesis "Food: Work in Progress" examines the complexity of identity and the body within the Colombian cultural context, and how these transform and interact with the environment. The body is conceived not only as a physical entity but also as a spiritual, emotional, and social one, intrinsically linked to nature and collective memory. It highlights the relevance of political and aesthetic awareness in the formation of identities, suggesting that personal experiences are intertwined with a deep yearning to understand contemporary realities.
Furthermore, food is presented as a metaphor for being, highlighting the importance of sensory experience and absorption in the interpretation of the world. The work analyzes concepts such as the body in proportion, the body as an organism, sexuality, gestures, and the spiritual and psychic dimensions of the body. It also explores the relationship between the rational and emotional body, as well as the influence of beliefs, religions, mysticism, magic, and myths. It emphasizes the need to demonstrate a sensitive aesthetic that responds to individual and collective needs.
