Resumen
In this program, the central theme is the comprehensive protection of early childhood and adolescence in Colombia. Through an interview with a mother who is a community leader, various aspects related to this topic were addressed; what is comprehensive care for early childhood and its importance for the cognitive, emotional and social development of children is explained, the existing public policy in Colombia and the challenges for its implementation regarding the topic were discussed; in a section, the institutional responsibilities of different entities, such as the ICBF, in the guarantee of the rights of early childhood are reviewed and exposed, and how from the legislation with the Code of Childhood and Adolescence and the rights recognized in it, the implementation and monitoring of this Code is necessary, complementing with the importance of investing in this stage of development and the long-term benefits, taking into account the main challenges and the proposals presented to improve care for early childhood. In this way, a topic of great social relevance was addressed in a clear and accessible way. The interview with the mother who is a community leader enriched the content and allowed us to learn first-hand about the experiences and needs of the communities.
