Resumen
This thesis presents the life and work of composer Blas Emilio Atehortúa Amaya as a tribute to his musical career and legacy in Colombian repertoire. Firstly, it provides a brief overview of the composer's life, exploring his early beginnings, studies, influences, and ultimately his achievements. This is followed closely by a catalog of his most prominent works, where the clarinet features as a relevant instrument in the composition. Later, the thesis shifts its focus to the musical piece "Tres Piezas para Clarinete Solo" (Three pieces for solo clarinet). It evaluates key events surrounding its creation and conducts an in-depth analysis encompassing its formal, structural, and timbral elements. To sum up, the thesis provides practical guidelines and recommendations to interpret the piece and delivers exercises to address the technical challenges.
