Resumen
This series of informative audios explains in a simple and accessible way several fundamental aspects of Colombian democracy and the electoral process. Through informative capsules, key topics such as the creation and modification of laws by citizens, the mechanisms of control over Congress and the President, and the procedures to revoke governmental decisions are addressed.
It also details essential aspects of the right to vote, including how to vote correctly, what restrictions exist on election day, and how to identify undue pressure when voting. Also discussed are the implications of vote buying and selling, the requirements to be a candidate for Congress, and the limitations on political proselytizing by public servants.
Other topics include the correct registration of the cédula, the role of special constituencies, the participation of indigenous people in politics, and how citizens can denounce electoral crimes and irregularities. Finally, the election process of the President of the Republic is explained, as well as the internal votes that the Congress carries out and that affect citizens.
These audios are a key tool to understand the democratic system and encourage informed and responsible participation in electoral processes.
