Resumen
Henry Mosquera's graduation project explores the relationship between ancestral identity and inner culture, focusing on Black African heritage. The author investigates key elements of African rituals and their influence on cultural expression, aiming to identify and project these elements in a plastic artwork. Mosquera seeks to acknowledge his roots and the transculturation that transforms these roots in a contemporary context.
The author's personal investigation into their past and the creation of works that integrate poetic and expressive concepts derived from their cultural heritage. The recovery of ancestral ritual is proposed as a means of communication and expression that strengthens the connection between the individual and their cultural environment. The work is inspired by family oral narratives and reflections on color, form, and materials such as wood, leather, metal, and fique, seeking to bear witness to the author's vision of their ancestry and their time.
