Resumen
The image contains a news item about the opinions of the current Government on the existing territorial division, describing it as inconvenient and defective. He argues that the vast and populous State of Cundinamarca requires more than the three Prefectures into which they are currently divided. He mentions that the population in the mountain range, concentrated in towns with a population of 200,000, cannot be governed efficiently by a single magistrate. On the other hand, the valleys formed by the Magdalena basin, despite having a dispersed, extensive and rich population, cannot be adequately governed by only two Prefectures due to the great distances and the difficulty of official communication. News published in Gaceta de Cundinamarca, December 3-1859.
