Resumen
This project analyzes the concentration level in Colombia's internet market over the period 2012–2022 using data from the POSTDATA platform. The study applies two key indicators: the Dominance Index (IN_D) and the Concentration Ratio (RC), which assess the market control exerted by the main companies in terms of subscribers, revenues, and data traffic. The analysis was conducted using Excel spreadsheets and a MATLAB-based software designed to automate the computation and comparison of the concentration indicators. The results reveal a highly concentrated market, with RC values close to 100% and dominance levels between 60% and 80%, confirming the presence of an oligopoly. The study concludes that stronger regulatory policies are needed to foster competition, ensure equitable access, and encourage greater diversity among service providers in the telecommunications sector.
