Resumen
The electricity grid of the future requires a qualitative jump, not a quantitative one. Due to the need to better manage energy resources, favor the protection of the environment and respond to the increasingly demanding requirements of quality of service and product, making the integration of industry 4.0 into the electricity sector makes automation of electricity easier. electrical distribution network and thus be able to meet its 3 main challenges which are digitization, decarbonisation and decentralization. Challenges in which information and communication technologies (ICTs) play a very important role, since using ICTs can lead to the implementation of Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, Augmented Reality and the Internet of things (IoTs), which are the main pillars of industry 4.0. Having an analysis of the operation of all these technologies and knowledge of each of the successful cases around the world we can see in what state is the electrical distribution network in Colombia and what is needed to achieve good automation in the distribution network and turn it into an intelligent distribution network, in order to be able to implement it in various places in the central RAPE region of Colombia and to become part of the concept of Smart Cities .
