En el presente artículo se hace un balance historiográfico sobre el tema de la instrucción pública en la Nueva Granada. Se citan las principales obras de los últimos 60 años (1954-2010) referentes al tema, los aspectos más importantes pero también los más frecuentes que aportan al conocimiento del tema. Este trabajo se une a la conmemoración del bicentenario de la Independencia de Colombia.
This article made a historiografic balance on the public instruction in the Nueva Granada. Major works are cited in the last 60 years (1954-2010), relating to the subject, included the most important and frecuent aspects that contribute to the knowledge of the subject. This work joins the commemoration of the bicentennial of the Colombian Independence.
