Este artículo integra, de manera descriptiva, contrastiva y crítica, algunos planteamientos teóricos sobre la educación literaria y, de manera particular, de la educación poética, centrándose en la lectura e interpretación del poema. Aborda algunos de los problemas y las dificultades más comunes a los que se enfrentan los docentes de literatura cuando intentan acercar a sus alumnos a este tipo de textos; la complejidad en su estructura discursiva es evidente en muchos casos, y, sumado a la manera un tanto equivocada de los métodos con que se enseña, genera apatía y rechazo no sólo por parte de los educandos, sino también de los educadores.
The article integrates, in a descriptive, contrastive and critical way, some of the main theoretical principles related toliterary education; particularly the poetic education, centered in the reading and interpretation of poetry. It addresses some of the most common problems and difficulties faced by literature teachers when approaching these kinds of texts with their students. The complexity of their discursive structures is evident in many cases, added to the waysome methods deal with these kinds of texts which generate apathy and rejection in both students and teachers.
