Descripción archivística de caricaturas políticas; un ejercicio práctico basado en las caricaturas de Matador (2004-2005) sobre La figura de Álvaro Uribe Vélez

Abstract

In this work, the description of Matador's cartoons was carried out in order to analyze and contextualize his cartoons of former president Álvaro Uribe published in the newspaper El Tiempo during the period 2004–2005. These politically themed cartoons need to be understood and contextualized to grasp the message they aim to convey. To ensure their informational and historical value, descriptive records will be used, based on various works and drawing manuals, to analyze their visual components, character designs, drawing style, among others. On the other hand, the historical context will be explored by researching the background of the cartoons, in this case through press clippings that support them, to understand the message or story they intended to portray and the purpose of conveying that ideal to the society of that time.
