Resumen
This thesis presents the internship “Dressing the History of Bogotá: A Commitment to the Use of Clothing in the 20th Century as a Means for Developing Historical Thinking,” developed with students between 11 and 15 years old from diverse vulnerable backgrounds through the Amor por Colombia Foundation (School at Home program), part of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF), and with a comparative experience at the Nicolás Esguerra National School. The proposal stems from the idea that clothing, as a cultural and social expression, can become a readily accessible historical source for students, allowing them to understand the processes of change and continuity, as well as the relationships between historical events and daily life in 20th-century Bogotá. The research is framed within a qualitative action research approach and was developed in phases of diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation, through activities such as photograph analysis, the construction of timelines and mind maps, and group work on family fashion, adapted to the students' emotional, academic, and technological circumstances. The results show progress in understanding the historical perspective, identifying the causes and consequences of changes in clothing, and greater participation and interest in local history, demonstrating that the use of clothing as a teaching resource promotes meaningful learning and an approach to history from the students' personal and social experience.
