Citizen security and the fight against crime are one of the main social concerns, in all the country, not just in the city of Bogotá. Reducing the crime rate, can be achieved using tools that are able to characterize the crime behavior. Spatial data mining can be used to extract knowledge, for their methods: explore and discover relationships between spatial and non-spatial data. Then reagroup spatial data into databases, and determine their general characteristics in a simply way. There are different methods of spatial data mining, such as: methods based on generalization, methods of pattern recognition, methods using clustering, methods exploring spatial associations. Applying this techniques of spatial data mining, try to characterize the behavior of crimes against property, that affect the city of Bogotá. The objective of this work, is establish a model to characterize the behavior of crime for a sector of the city, applying techniques of grouping of spatial data mining. To achieve this objective, will work with information from differents entities, such as: The spatial data infrastructure of the Capital District (IDECA), the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, the WEB portal of official entities like: the Mayor's Office of Bogotá, the Metropolitan Police of Bogota, among others.
