Resumen
This document develops a methodological proposal to modify and update the protocol for air quality monitoring and control, the protocol was issued by Resolution 650 in 2010 and modified by Resolution 2154 in 2010, which will allow to harmonizing the methodologies and monitoring strategies carried out by air quality surveillance network with the last regulatory guidelines published by the Ministry for the Environment and Sustainable Development. Air pollution affects the public health and the environment, for that reason air quality monitoring and control are really important. Therefore, the suitable design and operation of air quality surveillance network guarantee obtaining representative, reliable and quality data. To generate the methodological proposal, bibliographic and scientific information relating to measurement networks’ design, meteorological studies, emission inventories, modeling, methods, operational criteria, data management and quality assurance in the air quality surveillance network were considered, with the objective of evaluating and adapting it to the conditions of the country. The result is a synthetic and user-friendly document that will allow the different decision-makers at national level to consulting and evaluating the measures and requirements contained in the protocol for air quality monitoring and control adopted by the Resolution 610 in 2010, which will allow its future modification.
