To this end, constant strategies are developed to provide transportation alternatives that cover these needs. As cities grow, so does the means of transportation offered to the people of a city, this has created different problems in finding available and fast routes, increasing arrival times from one location to another. The use of the technology used for this project represents an efficient alternative for the location of the means of transport available within a city, to this is added the ability to accurately obtain the location of the available vehicles and their travel. The development of this project exploited the internal hardware and software features of Android devices, such as the use of GPS modules, GSM, accelerometers, compasses, among others, to develop an efficient alternative for the geographical location of public transport vehicles. Using an application developed for Android and installed on a Tablet or Smartphone and assigned to a driver, route and a public transport vehicle can be obtained in real time information such as; Travel, vehicle location, number of stops, among others. This scenario is common for Bogotá citizens of medium and low resources, who seek to select an educational establishment to provide primary and / or secondary education services to their children or minor dependent citizens. Currently, this process is developed using the physical location of the educational institution as the main selection criteria, the current method leaves out of the selection process important and fundamental variables for the academic, mental and personal development of the student, as the affinity between the talents and abilities of each particular student, and the academic focus, strengths and specialties of the educational institution to choose. Therefore, the solution of the construction of a software application is proposed, which, using the concept of relational database, development of mobile applications, web services and the consumption of open data of the Colombian state. Allow the citizens of Bogotá to support their process of selecting educational institutions for their children. With a free software application for Android that allows searches and apply filters on the official schools of Bogotá, taking into account parameters of interest such as the geographical location of the school, strengths and academic specialties and support to address physical disabilities among others.
