En este proyecto, nos preguntamos por los aspectos más sutiles de lo que sucede entre nosotros cuando cantamos y por las pistas que esto puede brindar para la vida colectiva. Descubrimos que, al solamente hablar sobre el canto colectivo, las ideas no fluyen. En cambio, si cantamos juntos antes de conversar, las ideas se hilan con fluidez, y en la experiencia sensible de cantar se produce conocimiento. En este sentido hemos creado rutas metodológicas sentipensantes –o cantapensantes– que llamamos conversas cantadas, verbales y no verbales. También ha sido un proceso de creación sensible de conocimiento que llamamos investigación-vida-creación, un activo reconocimiento de la importancia de unir la vida cotidiana y la academia. Cantaconversando, hemos encontrado que, con lo mágico, nos referimos a la sensación de estar profundamente conectados, momentánea y ocasionalmente, en un solo cuerpo colectivo, sin renunciar a nuestra individualidad. Esta experiencia está atravesada por un contexto cultural complejo, pero, aún así, es entendida como puramente placentera y provoca una sensación de sanación y liberación. La forma de producir esta conexión, o intersticio como hemos decidido nombrarlo, es a través de la escucha sutil y profunda. Esto brinda pistas importantes para un contexto cultural y social marcado por diálogos sordos y por la fragmentación de la vida colectiva. La escucha intensiva, necesaria para cantar juntos, puede trasladarse a otras esferas de la vida en agenciamientos resonantes que hacen eco a la agencia sónica de Brandon LaBelle. Más allá de la noción tradicional del vínculo como relación social entre sujetos, presentamos una noción vinculante que nos abre la posibilidad de conectarnos en una subjetividad colectiva. Aquí, en diálogo teórico con Suely Rolnik, identificamos en el cantar juntos una agencia micropolítica frente a los aspectos de la modernidad desencantada que nos han reducido nuestra subjetividad a lo individual. Con esto, no proponemos que todo el mundo se haga cantante, pero, al identificar y vincular microprácticas revitalizantes y re-ensamblantes en diferentes esferas de la vida y de las artes, podemos imaginar y trabajar por un mundo más vital.Sometimes, when we sing together, something happens that we singers intuitively describe as magical and difficult to explain. In this project, we look into the most subtle aspects of what happens between us when we sing and the clues that this can provide for collective life. We discovered that by just talking about collective singing, the conversation doesn’t flow. In contrast, if we sing together before conversing, the ideas link together fluently, and in the sensitive experience of singing there is a production of knowledge. In this sense, we have created what Fals-Borda called sensing/thinking methodological routes -or singing/thinking- that we call verbal and non-verbal singing/conversations. It has also been a process of sensitive knowledge creation that we call research-life-creation, an active recognition of the importance of merging everyday life and academia. Through singing/conversing, we have found that, by what’s magical, we mean the feeling of being deeply connected, momentarily and occasionally, as in a single collective body, without giving up our individuality. This experience is permeated by a complex cultural context, but, even so, it is understood as purely pleasant and produces a sense of healing and liberation. The way by which we produce this connection, or interstice as we have decided to call it, is by listening subtly and deeply. This provides important clues in a cultural and social context marked by unhearing dialogues and the fragmentation of collective life. The intensive listening that is needed for singing together, can be transferred to other spheres of life in a sort of resonant agency that echoes Brandon LaBelle's sonic agency. Beyond the traditional notion of social bonds as a social relation between subjects, we present a bonding notion that opens up the possibility of connecting through our collective subjectivity. In a theoretical dialogue with Suely Rolnik, we identify in our singing together a micropolitical agency confronting the aspects of the disenchanted modernity that have reduced our subjectivity to something merely individual.
