Se revisan los antecedentes históricos, reglas y principios de estos deportes de conjunto, así como las etapas que han caracterizado el desarrollo que estos han tenido en Argentina, teniendo en cuenta varios fenómenos de índole social, cultural y económico que han permitido que estos deportes tengan gran acogida en el conjunto de la población, apoyo estatal, la obtención de varios títulos orbitales y un sentido de identidad nacional en torno a su práctica. Se exploran también las distintas dificultades de la profesionalización de ambas disciplinas en el país. La investigación se realizó en 2021 hasta marzo de 2022, para continuarse desde septiembre de hasta esta la fecha. Se utilizaron programas de minería de datos cuantitativos y de elaboración de citas y referencias bibliográficas.This monograph determines, through exhaustive documentary research, the aspects that have influenced the massification of rugby and polo in the Argentine Republic in the 20th and 21st centuries. The historical background, rules and principles of these team sports are reviewed, as well as the stages that have characterized their development in Argentina, taking into account various phenomena of a social, cultural and economic nature that have allowed these sports to have great reception in the population as a whole, state support, obtaining several orbital titles and a sense of national identity around its practice. The different difficulties of the professionalization of both disciplines in the country are also explored. The investigation was carried out in 2021 until March 2022, to be continued from September to this date.
