Additionally, the tradition of political theater in the continent that is found behind this phenomenon is revised and the aesthetic task that this exercise represents.Este artículo explora la pertinencia del mito griego en la práctica teatral latinoamericana, a través de las diversas versiones de Antígona existentes en la dramaturgia del continente, pero concentrándose particularmente en dos obras: Antígona Vélez, de Leopoldo Marechal; y La pasión según Antígona Pérez, de Luis Rafael Sánchez.
