Teniendo en cuenta que desde la normativa nacional e internacional se habla de la EA como herramienta fundamental para alcanzar el DS, entendido este como aquel que favorezca el crecimiento económico, la calidad de vida y el bienestar social, sin comprometer los recursos y el ambiente a los cuales tienen derecho las futuras generaciones. Al analizar los textos y las entrevistas con expertos, se concluye que el concepto se encuentra en crisis, y por lo tanto hoy se habla de teorías que orientan a nuevas relaciones con el planeta.
