Pretende indagar, problematizar, teorizar y analizar el asunto de lectura, en relación con la dificultad de los estudiantes de ciclo II para comprender determinados textos de la vida escolar y la manera como las letras de las canciones, a partir de una propuesta didáctica y la mediación docente, se convierten en una herramienta para superar estas dificultades.Master's thesis in pedagogy of mother languaje. This qualitative research proposal is carried out in the school district Kennedy (locality 8th, Bogota - Colombia). It aims to investigate,problematize, theorize and analyze the reading matter inrelation to the difficulty of cycle II students to understand certaintexts of school life; and the way the lyrics, from a didactic andteaching mediation, become a tool to overcome these difficulties. In this regard, a previous diagnosis of reading skills of students, speech and pedagogical work and public policies related to reading, to identify possible causes to the problem inquestion is made.
