En este texto se describe una secuencia didáctica, desarrollada con futuros docentes de química, sobre la tabla periódica, estructurada en siete etapas. Los resultados permiten anotar que es necesario que los docentes de química en formación tengan una fuerte fundamentación histórica de la disciplina que enseñan, ya que favorece la compresión y el aprendizaje de los contenidos, acrecienta el interés y curiosidad sobre los fenómenos, hechos y situaciones propias del campo de esta disciplina.The teaching of science from a historical perspective favors a vision and human construction of it, also allows to identify and characterize the tensions, crises, circumstances and contexts in which scientific knowledge has developed. This text describes a didactic sequence, developed with future chemistry teachers, on the periodic table, structured in seven stages.
