Para dar cumplimiento a este objetivo se realizó un análisis documental de distintos tipos de trabajos prácticos que aparecen en una muestra de libros de texto de educación media para clasificarlos a partir de los aportes hechos por Albaladejo y Caamaño (1992) y Caamaño (2004). Los elementos de la muestra fueron seis libros de texto y uno de consulta de física utilizados en la educación media en Colombia. Para la presentación de resultados se realizó un conteo de las actividades prácticas, un análisis de la distribución de trabajos prácticos, una revisión de los objetivos procedimentales y actitudinales de cada trabajo práctico y su clasificación de acuerdo a las categorías establecidas. En la sistematización de la información se utilizaron tablas y gráficos estadísticos. Los resultados mostraron que los trabajos prácticos hallados en los textos son en su mayoría de carácter comprobatorio (tipo receta) y a menor escala aquellos que podrían desembocar en investigaciones científicas. Sin embargo se reconoce que el éxito que pueden tener los trabajos prácticos en los procesos de enseñanza y aprendizaje dependen en gran medida del tiempo que se le dedique, de la organización y preparación de planes de clase, las necesidades e intereses de los estudiantes y la preparación de los docentes en los contenidos científicos.This work took as a main intention to establish the targets, the characteristics and the conceptions from which the practical work is prepared in the textbooks of physics of the secondary school. To give fulfillment to this target there was a documentary analysis of different types of practical work that appear in a sample of textbooks of secondary school to classify them from the contributions done by Albaladejo and Caamaño (2004). The elements of the sample were six textbooks and one of consultation of physics used in the secondary school in Colombia. For the results presentation was realized a count of the practical activities, an analysis of the distribution of practical work, a review of the procedural targets and actitudinales of every practical work and its classification in accordance with the established categories. In the systematization of the information, stage and statistical graphs were used. The results showed that the practical work found in the texts is mostly of evidentiary character (type recipe) and to less scale those that might end in scientific investigations.
