El presupuesto general de la obra es el resultado de múltiples estudios e investigaciones que se realizan para determinar los precios de los productos en el mercado, el precio de la mano de obra y el rendimiento de estos, con el fin de tener control sobre los gastos que se van generando durante la obra. Por medio del APU, Análisis de Precios Unitarios, se puede organizar de mejor manera todos los datos obtenidos relacionados a los precios de las labores y de los insumos, por medio de este proceso, además se obtienen los costos directos e indirectos en la elaboración de cada actividad y su precio por unidad de medida.
