Se exploran los principales medios de difusión durante el periodo de desarrollo del instrumento, las agrupaciones que lo incorporaron en sus formatos instrumentales y una selección de destacados exponentes del siglo XX, resaltando sus aportes significativos al ámbito musical del país; así mismo, se aborda la creación de la cátedra de saxofón en algunas instituciones universitarias de la ciudad de Bogotá. Este proyecto rinde homenaje a las mujeres que han marcado un impacto significativo en el ámbito del saxofón en Colombia; de manera especial, el texto busca visibilizar el trabajo de las mujeres saxofonistas desde diversas perspectivas como intérpretes, educadoras, compositoras y gestoras culturales. Se analizan las dificultades que han enfrentado a lo largo de la historia, los estereotipos que han desafiado y cómo su labor musical ha contribuido no solo al enriquecimiento cultural, sino también al ámbito social, ayudando a cerrar brechas de desigualdad. Finalmente, presenta un catálogo de composiciones y arreglos que amplían el repertorio nacional del instrumento; igualmente, destaca diversos proyectos musicales que enriquecen el panorama artístico y visibilizan su rol como embajadoras del saxofón en el país.This document provides an overview of the history of the saxophone, covering its creation and its introduction to Colombia. It explores the main channels of dissemination during the instrument's development period, the ensembles that incorporated it into their instrumental formats, and a selection of notable 20th-century exponents, highlighting their significant contributions to the country's musical landscape. Additionally, it addresses the establishment of saxophone courses in some university institutions in Bogotá. This project pays tribute to women who have made a significant impact in the field of saxophone music in Colombia. Specifically, the text aims to shed light on the work of women saxophonists from various perspectives, including performers, educators, composers, and cultural managers. It analyzes the challenges they have faced throughout history, the stereotypes they have confronted, and how their musical work has contributed not only to cultural enrichment but also to social progress, helping to close inequality gaps. Finally, the document presents a catalog of compositions and arrangements that expand the national repertoire for the instrument.
