Such research was aimed originally at examining the discursive and ideological processes surrouding the difficult formation of the Cuban Republic. The methodology that i present here is based on the political actors in certain situations. I also analize instances of linguistics phenomena that prove to be relevant for the creation of lines of meaning throughout the examined corpus.En este artículo expongo un método de análisis del discurso periodístico a partir de una investigación realizada sobre prensa cubana de carácter histórico (principios del siglo XX), que se proponía indagar en los procesos discursivos e ideológicos en torno a la conflictiva formación de la República. La metodología se basa en una concepción del discurso noticioso como lugar de habla de los actores políticos de una situación dada.
