Las Corporaciones Autónomas Regionales, son las entidades competentes encargadas de cuidar y preservar dichas áreas. Estas áreas son afectadas por presiones antrópicas así que es necesario la implementación de un Plan de Manejo Ambiental (PMA). La CAR de Cundinamarca, identifica la Reserva Forestal Protectora Productora “Cerro El Tabor”. mediante Acuerdo No. 38 del 18 de Octubre de 2005.
