Resumen
The image contains news about a law issued by the Legislature of the State of Cundinamarca, dated October 1859, in order to promote the presentation of artifacts and natural products in a European exhibition. This law establishes a series of provisions for the exhibition of various objects of high quality and rarity. Among the requested objects are precious stones, metals, wood, medicinal plants, fabrics, among others. The law establishes that the inhabitants of the State of Cundinamarca must present these samples to the prefectures and that a commission appointed by the prefect will examine the samples to select those that deserve to be destined for the exhibition. Subsequently, these selected samples will be sent to the State Government Secretariat and then sent to exhibitions in Europe through diplomatic or consular agents. The law also authorizes the Executive Branch to use up to fifteen hundred pesos from the State Treasury to cover expenses associated with the execution of the law. News published in Gaceta de Cundinamarca, October 20, 1859.
