Resumen
"Mirror, Mirror" analyzes the historical evolution of the situation of women from nomadic societies to modernity, highlighting the persistent notions of inferiority and dependence due to biological and social factors. It examines the life of women in Ancient Greece and Rome, and the impact of the Renaissance and capitalism on their perception and social role. The author explores the social construction of the female gender and its representation throughout history, from veneration in agrarian societies to objectification in modern advertising.
Through a visual proposal that includes photography and self-portraits, the author seeks to reflect her own story and that of many 20th-century women. She proposes a parallel between her personal reality and the cultural and social context that surrounds them. The work explores the image of women in Western culture, the concept of beauty in art, and the search for female identity through time.
