Resumen
The purpose of this degree project is to provide the viewer a different point of
view about Epilepsy, from the fine and visual arts, starting from the intimacy
that provides a basis to the validation of the singularity and generates a dichotomy
between interiority and exteriority, throughtout the narrative that pretends
to reproduce the path prints of experiences embodied in scars and stories
that have occurred, mostly in a room.
The project itself, offers a creative character hypothesis,that uses the installation
as a resource to recreate the bedroom that I lived at the age of twelve,
time when I was diagnosed with generalized epilepsy. Aslant of specific objects
and different experiences confined to each of these (each object itself, is laden
with meanings and events that in one way or another, have been protagonists in
the 19 years that I have been convulsing) it is explore the intimacy space that
represents the dormitory. Be a place of protection, shelter of thoughts, prodigies
cabinet or reliquary, this space refers to a private landscape that must be explained
by the one who makes the invitation to momentarily occupy this metaphor
of the brain and memory, this chamber of registry.
Descripción
El presente proyecto de grado tiene por objeto brindar al espectador una mirada
distinta sobre la epilepsia, desde las artes plásticas y visuales, partiendo de
la intimidad que brinda piso a la validación de la singularidad y genera una
dicotomía entre interioridad y exterioridad, por medio de la narrativa que busca
reproducir las huellas de las experiencias encarnadas en cicatrices y relatos
acontecidos, en su mayoría, en una habitación.
El proyecto en cuestión, ofrece una hipótesis de carácter creativo. Se vale de la
instalación como recurso para recrear el cuarto de dormitorio que habitaba a la
edad de doce años, época en la que fui diagnosticada con epilepsia generalizada.
Por medio de objetos específicos y diferentes experiencias confinadas a cada uno
de estos (cada objeto se encuentra cargado de significados y sucesos que de una
u otra manera han sido protagonistas en los 19 años que llevo convulsionando)
se explora el espacio de intimidad que representa el dormitorio. Sea un lugar
de protección, albergue de pensamientos, gabinete de prodigios, o relicario, este
espacio remite a un paisaje privado que es explicado por quien hace la invitación
a ocupar de manera momentánea esta metáfora del cerebro y de la memoria,
esta cámara de registro
