Abstract

The release of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) has helped expose serious security deficiencies. The Industry Data Security Standard Payment Card (PCI DSS) applies to all organizations that process credit or debit card information, including merchants and third-party service providers that store, process or transmit credit card data. The implementation of PCI DSS has helped expose the serious security deficiencies, failure of companies to follow best security practices and a general lack of awareness of the security threats facing organizations today. This thesis proposes an ISMS model that examines how the standard relates to the AS / 400 and also highlights which procedures can provide a solution to the specific requirements of the PCI DSS standard.
