This image contains news that the bishop of Santa Fe de Bogotá received a communication from the government asking him not to recognize the priest García Tejada as bishop in the diocese of Pasto. The bishop refused to comply with this order, arguing that he could not go against the canonical powers granted to him by the Church. The government responded by saying that, although the canons provide for obedience to the Apostolic Chair, the bishop also has the right to intervene in certain cases, which would imply contradicting the Pope's instructions. Esta imagen contiene una noticia acerca de que el obispo de Santa Fe de Bogotá recibió una comunicación del gobierno en la que se le pedía que no reconociera como obispo al presbítero García Tejada en la diócesis de Pasto. El obispo se negó a cumplir esta orden, argumentando que no podía ir en contra de las facultades canónicas que le otorga la Iglesia. El gobierno le respondió diciendo que, si bien los cánones prevén la obediencia a la Silla Apostólica, el obispo también tiene derecho a intervenir en ciertos casos, lo que implicaría contradecir las instrucciones del Papa.
