In this work IAN [by its acronym in Spanish] is introduced as a complex system in which three important organization levels come up from the relation between the scientific activity and the society performing them. Historic research permits to account on significant traits in the dynamics of the scientific activity in Colombia in the second half of XX century, as follows: a singular conformation policy of scientific institutes subject to the ministries, a clear foreign dependence of the scientific community related to nuclear sciences, and a disregarding valorization from the civil society towards scientific national produce. On the other hand, it allows us to prefigure its attaints in the formation of physics teachers by illustrating the activity of a scientific national community, understood as a cultural activity linked to socio-political contexts producing and determining it.
