Resumen
The image contains news about the NOTE from the Director of Public Works. The report presented to the Secretary of Government of the State of Cundinamarca describes in detail the reforms and improvements carried out in the men's prison located in the old convent of San Francisco. The solid calicanto constructions, the numerous cells and the facilities intended for different prison functions, such as guard areas, infirmaries, and workshops, stand out. Each cell is equipped with reinforced windows and doors, ensuring both the safety and living conditions of the inmates. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on the implementation of a running water system and the provision of spaces for agricultural activities, which not only improves the habitability of the place but also offers work and rehabilitation opportunities for prisoners. The director proposes the creation of a position of inspector to ensure an adequate economic order and suggests the organization of a school within the establishment, promoting the education of inmates for their social reintegration. News published in El Cundinamarqués. July 7, 1865.
