Dos publicaciones ha hecho Umaña Jimeno: la una pidiendo al público suspenda su juicio sobre los hechos; la segunda, contestando a la excomunión que contra el expidió el ilustrísimo Arzobispo. En la primera , hablando del señor Pardo Vergara, le apellida " apóstol venerando de nuestra sublime religión"; en la segunda reproduce lo que estampo al pie del edicto de excomunión a saber, que hace muchísimo tiempo dejo de pertenecer a la iglesia católica ". Umaña Jimeno has made two publications: one asking the public to suspend their judgment on the facts; the second, responding to the excommunication against him issued by the illustrious Archbishop. In the first one, speaking of Mr Pardo Vergara, he is called " an apostle venerating our sublime religion"; in the second one he reproduces what he placed at the foot of the excommunication edict, namely, that long ago he ceased to belong to the Catholic Church ".
