Resumen
The image contains a news story about a criticism of the excessive trust that some people have in foreigners, particularly in the field of medicine, despite the fact that their training and knowledge is often limited. The case of a foreigner who arrives in Colombia with a dubiously obtained medical degree and flouts the legal requirements to practice medicine in the country is mentioned. Criticism focuses on how these charlatans manage to deceive even educated and cultured people.
It is suggested that if local doctors cannot cure certain diseases, why rely on foreigners with limited training and insufficient experience? The text raises the question of why these individuals would leave their countries of origin if they could really cure diseases considered incurable, and it is suggested that their motivation could be different from what they claim. News published in the newspaper Correo De La Ciudad De Bogotá, No. 172, November 14-1822.
