Evaluación Del Estado De Pavimentos Flexibles En La Zona Urbana De La Calera

Abstract

La Calera town has an urban road mesh of about 30 km / lane, which is mostly built on rigid pavements and to a lesser extent on flexible pavements. Although the municipal administration knows the extent of its roads, information about road condition is scarce. The objective of this work is to evaluate the flexible pavements of the urban area of La Calera. In order to carry out the evaluation, we use the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, widely used in the world as well as and in Colombia, for example, it is used by the Urban Development Institute of Bogotá. Failed and in bad condition pavements are 55.3% while regular condition are 16.6%, good and very good condition 22.2% and excellent 5.6. This numbers allow to local government propose maintenance and rehabilitation actions.
