On this day, the Church wants the faithful to pay public tribute of respect and veneration. It is a day of pleasant memories and immense comfort for the Catholic people. The population, known for its deep faith, must give public testimony of it, remembering the words of Jesus Christ: "Whoever confesses me before men, I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven." All faithful are encouraged to contribute to the solemnity of this feast. This year, due to the poor condition of the floor, the procession will not be able to travel along the North Corridor. Instead, you will leave the cathedral and, after walking through the first two streets of the Ocaña race, you will go down Tundama street. After completing the first one in Santa Marta, you will return along Venezuela Street until you reach Bolívar Square and from there you will go up to the cathedral again. The inhabitants of this route are recommended to clean and decorate the front of their houses and the part of the street that corresponds to them. Clergy, both secular and regular, are reminded of their duty to attend the procession according to the order of precedence established by the master of ceremony. School directors are also asked to attend with their students, assigning them their place in the cathedral.
