Resumen
The monograph analyzes the author's formative process as an actor at ASAB through the staging of Anton Chekhov’s The Three Sisters. Carreño explains how a rigorous study of the text was essential for building the character Kuliguin, emphasizing that a detailed analysis of every word, punctuation mark, and context revealed the complexity and humanity of the character. The work includes a contextualization of Chekhov’s Russia to understand the social and emotional weight behind his plays, showing how the author’s personal experiences deeply influenced the creation of his realistic, everyday characters.
The monograph outlines the methodological approach of the production directed by Ricardo Camacho, where fidelity to the original text and various forms of improvisation and scenic analysis were prioritized. Through a collective and experimental process, the goal was to achieve authenticity in the performance and depth in interpretation, with the text serving as a central guide throughout. The conclusions highlight the importance of the text as the primary tool in the actor’s craft, as well as the need for a solid and conscious training that enables actors to become rigorous interpreters of the human realities presented by dramatic authors.
