Resumen
The present work wants to expose the way in which technology can boost the development of the country's livestock sector, from the modernization of its marketing processes, making use of mobile applications. Colombia, like many countries in the region, faces the challenges of globalization and free trade, especially after signing trade agreements that demand a high level of competitiveness in vital sectors of the national economy. For this reason the farmers and agricultural producers in the country have identified the need to technify their production processes and recognize that the only way to generate favorable conditions for the use of new markets is by making important investments in science and technology. It is here that information and communication technologies (ICTs) play a fundamental role; the integration of technology into agriculture, livestock, aquaculture and in general the processes of exploitation of natural resources, becomes a determining factor of success, evolution and sustainability of the sector. The benefits of ICT have become more evident with the arrival of technologies that allow mobility, in the last decade research in mobile computing has led to the development of wireless communications systems with better performance and quality of service, as well as the construction of more friendly, economical and adaptable mobile software platforms. Therefore, the development of an information system that uses the most recent advances in mobile computing for the management of the process of commercialization of livestock called Livestock Auction, with the hypothesis that it will allow to achieve a more efficient, quality process and that meet the needs of increasingly demanding customers, who hope to find the benefits of technology in all areas of their lives.
