Resumen
The image contains news about the profits made by the mints in both Popayán and Bogotá. Emphasis is placed on how the former, despite adverse conditions such as the ravages of war, lack of funds and machines, has managed to produce more pesos than the latter, obtaining more profits compared to the previous year. On the other hand, a law is proposed that aims to direct the gold and silver produced by the mines for the manufacture of currency since the vast majority of these materials are exported without paying any tax or leave clandestinely. The reason for these practices is that shipping to established mints involves risks that they prefer not to assume, in addition to costs. This situation demands the creation of two other mints in Cartagena and Panama to decentralize the reception of these metals and thus increase currency production and profits.
