Resumen
The image contains a news story about the city of Santafé de Bogotá, recording its meaning and historical origin where the word "Santafé" evokes concepts such as religion, morality, order, wealth and probity. It is asked why the city is called Bogotá today and the question is raised about the reasons behind this variation. It is suggested that the elimination of the term "Santafé" may be related to the influence of exaggerated ideas of French philosophy that reached America. It is highlighted that, although there is no intention to question the variation in civil or political terms, a distinction is made. noting that name alterations in ecclesiastical matters, such as archbishoprics and bishoprics, are subject to the authority of the Holy See and should not be changed without its consent. News published in El Compilador No. 8, December 20, 1842.
